The practice provides child development checks in conjunction with the health visitor. You will be sent a card when these are due; please make an appointment as necessary. All children will be called for vaccination through the computer system run by the Preston Primary Care Trust. An appointment should be made with the nurse. If you need to re-arrange the time just ring reception and we will find a convenient time for you. If your child has a minor illness when the vaccination is due it is best to re-arrange if there is a high temperature. If you have any worries about your child’s development, please speak to the doctor during a normal appointment.
Blood tests are done at different clinics at different times of the day. A blood test timetable can be collected from the reception desk and view by the link below.

The INR clinic is held each Wednesday and facilitated by Miss Julie Nicholson-Wallbank (HCA). It is open to all patients who require Warfarin monitoring – strictly by appointment only.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
Please complete a Travel Vaccination form from reception in the first instance. The nurse will advise which vaccines are required. Please allow 72 hours for this process.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form then contact the surgery after 10am three working days after completion. We will then be able to let you know if you require any vaccinations and offer you an appointment with the nurse.
Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.
