Controlled Drugs in EPS national roll out
Each year The Rotary Club of Preston hand out the prestigious Sir Tom Finney Award to an individual, who is not a club member, who has made a significant contribution to the charitable work of the Rotary Club Preston. This year our very own Dr Zakir Patel was presented the award; it was stated that Dr Patel has provided considerable support to the club over a number of years and that they were pleased to be able to recognise his support and the charitable services he has provided. The award was presented by Rotarian and our Senior Practice Manager Sharon Riley.
Public Health England are currently running a campaign to raise awareness on Cervical Screening tests. They encourage all women who are due for their test to get booked in at the surgery with a practice nurse to get the test done. The appointment takes no longer than 20 minutes and the results could potentially save lives. If you know you are due your Cervical Smear test then contact your surgery today!
There is currently a national roll out for controlled drugs to be sent electronically to nominated pharmacies. This change will take place from Thursday 28th March 2019. This means that all schedule 2 & 3 controlled drugs will be sent electronically (EPS) This excludes oral liquid Methadone which will still require an FP10 (printed green prescription) to be generated. If you have declined the electronic prescription service then your prescriptions will still be printed as usual. If you have any questions regarding this change then please contact your surgery directly.
